Born April 24, 1949, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was the son of the late Lester and Colleen (Sowers) Durst. He was preceded in death by one brother, Aleck “Ken” Durst. 

Mr. Durst was a member of Springs Mennonite Church and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. 

He is survived by one daughter, Nicole Durst, Meyersdale, Pa. and one sister, Kathy Durst, Grantsville, Md. 

At his request, his body was cremated. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Steven Heatwole officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion, Post 214, Grantsville. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. is in charge of arrangements
