Historic events for 1918
Spanish influenza outbreak
was a 1918 killer.
Between March and November
of 1918 it killed
an estimated 20 million to
40 million people
worldwide and became
the worst single epidemic in
U.S. history. Between
500,000 and 675,000 died in
the United States alone.
Salisbury was extremely
hard hit by this influenza.
